Work with teachers & schools

I provide both virtual and in-person professional learning experiences on translanguaging and how to shift policies, practices, and ways of thinking so that teachers and schools can work with multilingual learners in equitable, humanizing ways. I create professional development series, give talks, and consult on the following topics:

  • Translanguaging theory & its applications to all classrooms
  • Developing a school-wide culture of translanguaging
  • Translanguaging approaches to ELA/literacy teaching
  • Translanguaging approaches to literacy assessment
  • Translanguaging and social justice
Much of my work with teachers and schools is based on my co-authored book, The Translanguaging Classroom: Leveraging student Bilingualism for Learning. Please contact me to learn more!
